SH 6090H this is what happened...
at abt 7pm, Ms A and I board a cab at Orchard Hotel on 01 Nov 07
Ms A: uncle, we are going 2 places, simei then to tampines.
Cabbie: okay
*happily chatting while in a heavy jam on PIE toward Kallang at abt 720pm* Cabbie: I am running late, I had a booking to pick up my regular at 730pm in town
Me: uncle, call your regular n inform him loh. if not call ur khaki to help you pick him up. you are going to be very late.
Cabbie: my buddy fly to bangkok today liao lah. nobody to help me.
*phone ring* Cabbie: (talking on handsfree) bob, let's make it at 8pm.
Ms Ang: you will still be late even if you change to 8pm. Now not even kallang, and you need to go simei and tampines leh
Cabbie: ya loh. thats why i m thinking y not i drop you all somewhere here. you take another cab
Ms Ang: har! how can.. uncle you need to send us back la! PIE where to find cab, boh cab want to stop eh
*cabbie continue to grumble, speed, squeeze between cars, change lanes, overtake recklessly, jam brake all the way* Me to Ms Ang: if he knows he had a booking later, should now have taken us at Orchard Hotel
*traffic jam cleared after enuos, and cabbie continued to speed*Cabbie: I drop you at simei mrt la! i wont charge you a cent. you look at my meter, already 17 bucks liao. it is more than enuff for you to call another cab. i late already
*Total silence between Ms A and I* Cabbie: no need scare no cab. simei mrt alot of cab eh.. boh then call loh... 17 bucks more than enuff liao. I lugi boh charge you a cent
*reach eastpoint at 745pm, cab stops and dont move, Ms Ang shake head*Ms Ang: angela, we get off la
*fumming, and blood boiling, I grab my bag and get off* *cab speed off after we get off the cab*For your info, Ms Ang is a 5-month pregnant lady.
Price to pay: nasty complaint to LTA
